Welcome to Ski Boots in the Kitchen, I’m Perry! I started this blog in October 2012 in an attempt to challenge myself in the kitchen, try new recipes, share some old favorites and document my adventures at high altitude (both in the kitchen and outdoors). I don’t actually wear my ski boots in the kitchen, that could be hazardous around hot stoves and boiling water! I am able to enjoy my passion for food and adventure in the beautiful town I call home, Park City, Utah.
I love to eat but I also enjoy the process of preparing, cooking and entertaining! My inspiration comes from my travels, my mother and a great collection of cook books and family recipes I’ve collected along the way. Growing up I used to complain when my mother would make amazing recipes like Chicken Marsala, Stuffed Beef Tenderloin and Scallops in White Wine Cream Sauce… “Why can’t we have normal dinners like hot dogs and instant Mac N’ Cheese!!!” I would beg. I was so naive. Luckily my mom didn’t give into my silly requests for disgusting dinners and I eventually started cooking with her. Now I love to cook (mostly her old recipes!) and eat- so I wanted to share the recipes that made me love food and cooking with you.
Pom Pom + food = yummy!!
I wish I had paid closer attention to my mother’s cooking. I didn’t know she was a culinary genius of Eastern European food; and, she never mentioned it. I would give ten years of my life to be able to eat one of her meals again.
HI Perry,
Glad to meet you.. I found you because you are following my blog! So cool to know there are other Park City food bloggers. We should get together soon. I love to ski but I try to remember to take my boots off. I wear pink crocs in the kitchen. 😉
Best,
Letty

I would LOVE to get together and talk food with you (and possibly cook too?!)! I tried your Purple Majesty Potato Salad with Blue Cheese and Toasted Hazelnuts the other night and nearly fell off my chair it was so delicious! With your permission I might need to Re-Blog it on my site! Great to hear from you, I’ll be in touch!
